Transcription
8-2-33 edge (esp in young fr.) Anthers greenish
with lines of red-brown or white of deliquesced. Styles
hardly projecting above disk (when anthers de-
liesed) but later (in young fr.) styles 1+ mm long,
strongly reflexed & extending beyond edge of
disk and disk & styles red. All frs seem female.
Largest fr now 3-4mm on pedicel of 9 mm. Ovary
rather also flattened bell, the develops into an almost
ovate form only slightly flattened, but in oldest fr
now the edges are getting thinner & the 3 dorsal
veins are turning into ridges. St widely
hollow and juice milky (BVH). St defgen'd.
1 was all (Cates); pedicels usually ridged & hollow;
sheath not dilated. Edges in mericarps continuous.

This has so much the look of Penedanum polystiche
that when col. it was thought to be the same. But
the ridges on st are definitely thin-edged (towards
base) & the thin wing-like edges can be bent with
the fingers and immediately under nmbel they
are ruffled.) Involl none; involucrel of many weakly
retaceous not reflexed bracts. St. solid w/ white
piste. No stamens found. Disk conical, styles 3mm
long spreading, much longer than disk. Petals erect
