"what S&V mean by "gegliedert" ) not as distinct as in the P. found under Val-Mont. The fringe "Andrängsel" as "gespreitzten" (as remembered when growing) as in P. ? Val-Mont. Fls(overall) 4-5 mm. In oldest fs, wing is 5 x 2.5 mm, a shade longer than but noticeably shorter than the pod which is fully 3.5 mm wide. Nervation of wings seems fewer & simple, the mid-nerve without branches & the 2 side nerves only slightly branched on outside and not forming a net-work. Seed (without aril) now 2 mm long. Aril has 2 lobes 1 mm long (when impositon, these lobes do not reach to middle of seed) and a much smaller lurking lobe (really almost ½ mm), these lobes all lying close against seed. Seed pubescent; aril glabrous except for a small spot of similar pubescence on top. The P. from near V-M used for comparison is just the same as has been thought to be P. vulgaris? [26-34 Flodens trife & Oldejaman, seems no other possibility. See also Corbet's Alpine Flora Pl XVIII which suggests our plant ] 7-25-33 Epilobium. Fl. A. Path. Naye-Libram (between chalets Libramprua) Acc. to manuals nothing seems possible except E. montanum &. but at base of st are fleshy jointed underground runners with oppo. fleshy scales. This specimen now 1 cm long. St 18"in high, branched at on the upper third. B. On road from Libram toward Caux at crossing ? first brook. St 3½ ft high and barely branched
