7-18-33 probably not A. mollis. The five inner filaments break at base, the four outer much narrower (this not mentioned in any manuals) and all 10 bear anthers (in bud). (Coste, G and B&H say 5, B&H "perhaps not" usually perhaps constantly." SVT says nothing as to number of anthers.) Perhaps plant is only a poor spec. of A. pyrenaicum [see 9-29-33 ident. sure]
7-18-33 Erythrea pulchella Horn Coste II 55-3, Box 213 = E. — Fries B&H 3/2 = Centaurium pulchellum Druce & 656, SVT I 534. Fl. Bouveret PP station.
8+5-9 cm. Two spec about 6 cm branched only towards top. The tall spec (9 cm) branching from base with fls at all levels. All fls pedicels (three in the forks, 1.5-5 mm). Corolla lobes 3 mm high, v tube about 8mm. In the oldest fl, calyx v palate equal ± 10mm.
General shape of plant very like all B&H II #248

7-18-33 Erythrea Centaurium Pers Coste I 554, Box 213, B&H 3/2 = Centaurium umbellatum. Slif & 656, SVT I 534. Fl v young fls. Bouveret marshes. 8 A to 45 cm.
Rosette at base evident. SVT ideas of branching only towards top or fls about on same level is true as to general tendency. But (a) has 2 of these starting from same root. (b & c) have branches from middle v much below (note: each of these branches deals in itself to reproduce the plan which SVT quite for the main st.) Corolla lobes about 6 mm
