elliptic-lanceolate 14 x 4-5 mm, minuate, reduning to anuses) corolla. The ances of calyx making a slight downward fold (not a true appendage as in C. medium). At base of calyx tube are 2 bracts very like the calyx lobe in size. Style 8 mm, stigma 10 mm. Base of stamens broad-triangular (edges touching), the edges covered with short thick hair (a perhaps would be called papillosae). Calyx-tube puberulent (a perhaps papillosae) 7-18-33 Lithospermum officinale L. Cote II 589, Bon 222, BVH 322, A 686, SVH I 546 1/2 x fr. St. Kingolph- Bouvet (seen in one place only) 2-2 1/2 ft. Fil look like tiny white fragments. Ripe fr. not white, but) the purplish-peachy color found in obella. Corolla 4 mm high. 854 7-18-33 Thalictrum flavum L. (See 6-28-33) Fl Bous- eret-Villeneuve. Note: filaments are thickened (slightly but surely) toward the top. (Cote x SVH give this char. only for T. aquilegifolium L. with blue fls); also anthers are apiculate (the connective pro- jecing in a small butted point at tip). Note also that infl may not be as compact carynx like as re- quired for T. flavum. (Not as much as all BVH and in Cote infl literature bet #65x68.
