purple hairs). But this too seems unlikely. Contrary to SV4: pedicel 4mm, calyx 6mm is not "so long or very longer"; Stem, tho round, is very def. ridged even into the inflorescence; st (shown full fl) definitely with several-branched hairs, as are the lvs on both sides; (basal lvs not col) lowest lvs narrowed to base or short innegted petiole, middle upper lvs sessile and shortly but widely decurrent. Contrary to Coote, it is not at all "globe" being 5 ft high without (fully 1/2 in thick at base); lvs not like ill. Contrary to Bon: leaf petiole not diff from that of V. migrum by being "presque globuleux" 2yft 2 1/2 ft at base, which several more slender branches reach to about 1 1/3 ft. Fls in clusters which are scattered below (the st. showing plainly between) but dense above (so at is barely visible). Corolla yellow, 15mm diam. Hair on stamens: some purple, some whitish on each stamen. Anthers transverse (not decurrent) Lvs at base 9 at 12 in x 6 in. SVK II 297 Best guess is that this is a hybrid of V. migrum x V. Thapsus L. both of which are growing immediately near by. (Corolla tho sometimes slightly touched with purplish throat has not the def purple spots in throat) V. migrum. 7-11-33? Quercus pubescens Willd Coote III 2058? SVK I 194. No flr fr. Longedu Chauderon. Lvs to 8 1/2 cm on petiole 5 or peduncle 6-10 mm. Upper side dark green, shining
