Up[on] surface rather yellowish green. (See above) Q. Robus [5-5t-34] and (B)X show only an occasional hair, under surface to eye is glabrous except for a silkiest nuance. (B)X shows besides the finest 2 or more rays, rays-leaves (so small they are only just visible at 20). [L] vary greatly in shape perhaps narrow- ing more below the middle than in A. Nerves occasionally run to the sinuses, perhaps less often than in A. Base much as in A. The nature of pubescence points to Q. sessiliflora but petioles (now) are 10 mm or less. (See 8v/1)
