5-5-34 Polgola vulgaris L. asp. comosa Chodat SVKI 434 = T. comosa Sabelt Coote I/64. Fl Villeneuve subtending -Bonveret. Bracts 4-5 mm long (fallen from the pend. flowers) pedicels are 2mm long) with long tips, the green mid-nerv broad at base, but bract margin shallow round with thin colored margin. The bracts long-exceeding the buds make a cone like "tuft" at end I think this is not conspicuous to the eye. Drawing all nerves except the mid-nerve faint & only for rather deep shade of the color of the wing. No definite nerves. * fully 2x as long as lateral bracts. A. Fls def rose-lilac. B. Fls blue (same shade as asp. vulgaris. 5-5-34. Polgola vulgaris L. asp. vulgaris SVKI 434. Fl. Villeneuve-Bonveret. Subtending bract 1½ mm long (equal to or about than pedicel) triangular with mid-nerve not definite. At end of riff. the buds surpass the bracts. Wing with def marked nerves which (20%) are broad & green ish with (at least a few) definite reticulations. (These, 2 asp. collected of with T. amarella without showing their differences.) [Note 5-26-34. Many observations show that the neurons are often so close to join almost a white effect & they are sometimes 1¾ as wide as other vulvers. look large but never found as long as 2½ hrs. Wings longer and very nearly as wide as ripe capsule.
