No. very bitterly bitter. A slender but stiffly undulate variegated root has several shortly branches from top each of which ends in an inf (This negates P. colourata v? alpina acc to SVK I.) These branches thickly clothed with rather firm, glabrous hvs. These hv oblate to oblanceolate rounded or very luse at tip & gradually narrowed till they seem almost petioled at base. The largest of these hvs 28 x9 mm. In small plants these hvs are hardly enough to be called rosette lv. plants at Bouveret but in the plants from Vellenne macul. hvs this sort are as thickle & so many that they form a cushion. The Bouveret plants bear only a few stems but the Vellenne plants bear as many as 50 flts. to a plant. St 8-11 cm high. St hvs all smaller than rosette lv. +13 x4 mm, longer or ob lanceolate. Gen effect very like Coats Jell #4/3. St lfys &d but not into the inf. The longest subtending bract fallen during time fl open but judging from the bracts on buds. (1 1/2 mm ales) they would be as longer than the pedicelle which in fl. are 1 1/2-2 mm. The other 2 brcts much shorter. Opened fls 3-4mm long. Corolla tube = free part, calcx 1 1/2 mm long (cf not P. vulgaris tube 4mm & free part 2+ mm.) In most adv. fr. wings is 4 + mm long x 2 1/4 mm wide. Fr is 4+ mm long x 3 1/2 mm wide. Seed now about 2 mm overall. The 2 equal lobes of aril not 1/2 mm long, the 3rd lobe all foliate. During side nervs meet the mid-nerv (if at all) ear the top side nervs faintly branchled on out- side & no net nervs as in P. vulgaris as p. vulgaris [5-25-34 Fr. Same place. Capsule 5 x 4 mm. wing 4+ mm &mny seed 2 mm overall.
