SVKI 57 = Avena — L. BH 542. Fl Villeneuve - Bonveret. By all tests this is T. (altho the 2nd glume is 5-6mm long, Bon says under 4mm) And this is only poor species sec to SVKI but note that at. below infl. has short fine hairs (less prominent than pubescences on sheaths or nodes) tho SVK says glabrous. Infl 6-7cm (as desc Cote and BH) Ligules are slant, truncate & finely lacerate rather than ciliate (Cote) 9-29-33 Amaranthus retroflexus L. Cote III 172, Bon 265, A 371, SVKI 221 Fls fr. Villeneuve (in village clay water front) Agrees exactly with desc of 8-20-31. [7-19-34 Fl & fr R.BH decides all spec. previously quoted questh'd must have been A retroflexus.
