St. with 3 nodes, the internode being 3, 7 to 9 cm in length from base up and at 25 cm bet the uppermost node and base grist. Lf 8mm wide with about 7 strong nerves with many fine ones between (markable eye when held against light). Ligule def. rounded at top. Palea very truncate at apex and slightly shorter than lemma.
