Not found in Ros or BVH but probine in V. odorata L. Fl
*Bliss
(Al) Fls entirely white (maybe same as found on grassy)
(H) Fls white with a purp purplish.
(C) Fls with petals on outside dark, bright purple at tips
shading to almost white at base, inside much
fades suffused purple. Spur purple.
Otherwise a b vc similaris. Petioles purplish. Ivs dull
green w/often wth veins purplish.
* ? Viola odorata L. Coste I 155, Ros 37, BVH 56 Fl. Bliss
noodor noticed but the blunt nepsa, stlm (in 1 case
only) vglabrous peduncle seem to define species.
Lower petal nearly or quite entire (all Coste v BVH)
not "nettement echancere" (Ros) Lateral petals
lightly bearded. But consider poss. If V. lutea L.
(Pull the blue violet found with the white one on
grassy slopes & Val-Mont 3-26-31)
4-15-31 ? Viola silvestris Lamb. Coste I 156, Ros 37. pff =
v.-kif BVH 57 Fl. Bliss. Duteaglabrous wth stipules
conspicuously fringed. Fls pale than above. Stigma
differs from above in that style is rounder (let's call it is more spherical vis def. fastillosa) & its shorter
