very small. Petals yellow. Stamens all fertile, an- tthers with touch of red. Stigma almost fringed lobed, style enlarged at top, no sign of "contournee en cercle a la base" (Cote). Ovary pubescent. (See 6-12030-31 5-29-31 Viola calcarata L. Cote I 157, Box 37. Fl. Rochers de Naye. Lvs small, mostly about 10-12 mm & varying fro nate to narrowly llony, with teeth sometimes obscure. Etioles hard to see in the tuft, lvs but seem rarely simple. Calyx lobes finely denticulate on scarios edge varsicles shergs obliquely toothed. Petals violet wth few darker rays at center & lower petals. Lateral petals clavately [illegible] bearded, lower petal yellow at base vits claw thickly pub. with fine hairs in tongue.
