Sheaths overlapping, the uppermost sheathing the pennicle as it expands. Blades short, uppermost about 1 in.. Its ventral lower surface the same but not whitish margined (Cots III 595). Allumes upper parts glumes very thin & transparent. Spikelets silvery green, awns purplish. 5-10-31 Luzula silvatica Aud. Cots # 457, BVH 492 = L. maxima DC. Bm 322 Fl. in various stages from 8 descent to blim. Note: The only seed old enough to show had very small terminal tubercle (Cots says tubercle, Btt says not) (see 5-23-31 Fr.
