5-7-31 Scabiosa columbaria L. Cote II 280, Bm. 148, 13vt & 330 Fl. Glion. Fl. pale lilac asdese (Bor and 13vt not Cote) lvs more less pub. with short appressed up- curved white hairs. Peduncles with similar hair, downward-pointing. Stigma 2 (or more) lobed, w/ 1 lobe longer than others. 5-7-31 ?? Phillyrea decora. Bises v Bol B. MQCP 593. Fl. Cult. Val-Mont. Oleaceae with clusters of small white fragrant fls axillary, longest pedicel ¼ in or others much shorter (Consider poss Camelliaea) lvs very firm oleathery, yellowish green v some- what shining above, paler v dull beneath. Both sides w/ minute dark dots (20x). lvs 3-4½ in x 1 to 1½ in. oblong, tapering about equally to both ends, edge firm cartilagenous. Calyx whitish into lobe more or less jagged or toothed. Filament w/ a ridge of corolla from base to sinus. Antthec 2+mm, longer than filament. Stigma only slightly higher than base of antthec. 5-7-31 Viburnum Tinus L. Cote II 331, Bm. 137, B.MQCP. 919 Fl. Cult. Val-Mont. Young lvs. ridged v somewhat reddish, pubescent with dark haired (somewhat) very young lvs also minute dark dots (20x) beneath as well as decreasing? pubescence (stellate or not). Older lvs. w/ tufted hairs in axils beneath.
