greenish-blue (B) Calyx pale green. Corolla pure white, bluish-white lilac? Path on hill side above La Vmaz. 5-3-31 ? Salix Caprea L. Cote III 269, Box 287, BVH 425, BVH & C.P. 224. Unique capsules and young lvs. Rd east of Val-Mont. Twigs brown-purpleish, glabrous (but new growth homentose-pubescent), scales of un- opended buds glabrous. Lvs. (largest now 3x2 cm) with short pubescent petiole, ovate, rounded at base, tips short & broadly acute, perhaps downcurved. IJF slightly pub. above (pers) will be rugose later), white crispy (n? perhaps silly) beneath, obscurely toothed but stipules none or very small (BVH v BVH & C.P. say conspicuous but caducous). ? catkins 10 1/2 in. thick, on very short peduncle with a few bracts (which don't look as tho they would be '2in long' in BVH) Rachis pubescent. Pedicel pub, about 2 mm long is as long as the hairy scale (which is black except at very base) v at least 6 times as long as the sting gland. Ovary pub., 5mm long (a.t.S.) with long tapering beak; style not more than 1/2 mm. Stigma 1/2 mm. Ivs never widest above middle
