8-29-31 Veronica alpina L. Cote tt 59, Box 236 SVH 346 (all part) SVH 593, see 7-28. FL v f2. Roche de Naye. Note Cote must be wrong in says "glandulose" as no other manual says so and SVK says "hirsute" hirsus mat. No glands on any floral part. Plants 2-5in. stiffly upright from slender creeping base. St. capitate & calyx oblong with longish white hairs. Lvs to 16X70mm, glabrous or with few hairs on edges Corllas 7mm wide. Capsules hairy 6x5mm, blue-green, hardly notched but holed top. Style 1.5mm. Seeds many. 8-29-31 Campanula Scheuchzeri Vill Cote tt 502, Box 199, SVH 654 FL Roche de Naye. Portabcla slender creeping. St. somewhat decumbent at base, som ascending (rose flow) 3-5in high, stiff pink, angled, ± purplish, glabrous, shining. Tls down on lower 1/3 of st. Middle 1/4 lf 4. Three lo lanceolate to 33X5mm, acuminate both sides, sessile, entire def toruled, short haired or edged wth spaced white hairs on petiolule base (similar hairs found on ridges of st.) Upper part of st ± lyrate similar but very narrow v not-tiliate to. Sts 1-4d. Corlla deep tube large v open: 23mm long equally wide, cut 1/3 length into broad, false lobes with narrow in- cuses. Calyx tube 4-5mm, its subulate erect lbes 10- 13mm. Flo nodding. Not found if buds not. (Su 7-25-33)
