Lvs spotted but obscurely, Fls larger, white, the 2 petals faintly tinged purplish with more def line of purple on edge. Pollen cells purplish v stigmatic spot outlined with purple: both clear O maculata as compared. No spots or lip. 6-5-31/17 Rosa alpina L. Cote II 52, Bos 101 Fl Colby Miss MacK. Twig glabrous v glaucous, 1 fls 7 except upper lf which has 3. Stipules 5mm wide, attached to petiole for half its length with sharp points projecting about 8mm higher, glabrous, glaucous, slightly dentate v with many dark red glands on edge. Petioles v mid ribs glandular v with a few straight prickles (evident to touch) Lfts glabrous both sides, glaucous beneath, sharply toothed to near base (the teeth being again den- date) v each tooth ending in gland smaller than those on stipules. Calyx lobed to 2.5cm, not lobed or edges, but tip slightly expanded (not as wide as base) v slightly toothed, glandular on edges, very hairy inside. Petals red. Styles free. Stigmas in velvety hed. Peduncle 3 cm, glabrous below but thickly cored above middle with about
