Note some flowers petals & stamens are dark blue, otherwise as desc. (Capsules do not appear to be fertilized or at least not maturing). 372 7-17-30 Rosa virginiana Mill. A497, BV#11285, FL. R.R. lot Black Duck & Island Pond, FL on very young fr. Ulder st. St densely prickly but more recent(?) things growth with only infra-stipular spines which are slender, almost quite straight 5-7 mm. Stipules dilated above slightly toothed (sometimes a few teeth gland tipped). Rachis pubescent below into 1-4 (usually?) or 3-5 only at tip just below flo. Flo. usually solitary, sometimes 2-8. Sepals gland-dotted, some with a few small hairs spread- ing after petal drops. Calyx tube slightly gland-tiedly or almost n quite glabrous. Flo very rose fragrant. Stipules softly hairy on edge (perhaps bairisdecaune latice).
