6-5-30 (A, T, S.) cap. 20 at apex. Anents 1 3/4 in long. Raceme pubescent. Scales lower to middle, long-silky pubescent. Pedicels 1/2 (2 less) as long as slender gland. Capsules tormentosa, style long (1+mm) valvula, stigmata long valvulosa. Twigs green glabrous. Young twigs and silky-white hairs at base not very conspicuous. K 242 = 455 6-7-30 Salix ? No. ? # in small clump. Alders in open, 8 ft high. Prob same as F. L 243 = 456 6-7-30 Salix ♀ flo 15-20 ft high. Next down from K (10-15 ft) Very like F. v part the same. The stigmas are 1/2 in long & styles perhaps because further away 1/2 mm. v twigs shining glabrous almost quite to tips.
