7-24-37 enough. Otherwise fits dese adequately v seems to fit no other dese. Culens (?)is high, sterile stiff. Bracts v aplles stiffly erect, as this appeared. Lowerst green &. on culm is about 3 in abov base. Below that are 2-3 short dead low bladeless sheaths. Below them at base of culm abundant thread like remains of old sheathios. These show only after not collected v best after it dries somewhat. Perigynia glaucons green above, paler toward base, the 4-6 nerves on each face showing well only as it dries. Reals more abrupt than ill (30/13). [See 8-19-37 for the possibility that this was C. lacuckensis] 7-24-37 ? Carex Goddenoviri J. Gay G 231-130/BI 4:22 Dump Pool (very near ? C. stricta above). Select pos? correct as inf fits dese. Questioned because (a) perigynia seems shining rather than dull; (b) plant seems caespitose rather than stoloniferae; and (c) has green rather than "glaucons blue." But no other possibilities seem correct. Some achenes almost ripe but most seem not likely to develop. Stigmas 2. Aclene lenticules v thick. 7-24-39 Carex stricta L. var. orata Boot G 233,= C. aristiformis Britton B/BI 4:18 F2. Dump Pool (at entrance to upper pool). Unmistakable! [9-11-37 A.A. took ms of D.P.
