It lvs to 1½ in, all two capillary involute form infl to ½ in usually with 1 or 2 branches ½ in below main almost simple terminal portion, the branches spreading but all spikelets appressed (not at all like ill BvB. More like ill upper portion F. rubra BvB) Spikelets 10mm (measures excluding B lemma 5½ mm, rachis grain 1½ mm. (these meas from 1 spikelet only), lemmas smooth 528 4.F.W. Closes at edges of both plants with prostrate sterile branches to 18in long with young branches & roots at nodes.
