448 = 235 8-10-30 Salix Same as C 6-5-30. Twigs pubescent even on lesser recent parts. Lvs firm, oval to obovate of fine racette, narrowly rounded at base curve or wavy edged with low distant teeth, edge slightly revolute; glossy dark green & leathery looking above but (20x) showing a few hairs. Upper lvs conspicuously rugose very beneath closely lobing with blunt white hairs on glabrous background. Lone lv only less so. Largest lf 2 3/4 x 1 3/8 in, petiole 1/4 - 3/8 in. A. Stipules when present small and close lf. Blades from which lv fallen rather and focussually projecting. Considers S. rostrata Richards & 1926 = S. Bebbiana Sarg.
