447 = 227 8-10-30 Salix Same as A 4/4/30. Spec taken from tree at so-eastern side of fence just south little Bridge on Mrs Cook's hay-road. Rt bank Baraboo. Twig downy. Lvs firm & rather leathery, dark green above, very glaucous beneath or almost glabrous, oval, acute, sub-cordate at base. Leaf let 3 1/2 x 2 in. Finely but not entirely regularly toothed all around with numerous gland tipped teeth. Petioles reddish & downy like twig. Stipules sometimes large (to 8mm) almost semi-circular, sometimes small & often lacking even towards end of twig. When present gland toothed & densely glandular at base. Petioles with or without a gland on each side at base. If w/ glands on midvein only these glands sessile, stalked or with foliaceous stalks. Note: Salix Bv AA 9 6-4-30 ?rt collected 8-10-30. All willows in this region as well as AA the same.
