8-26-29 Lycopodium obscurum L. var dendroide- DC. Eaton G 56 inc in L. obscurum L. BvBI 45° sp. Rd from Cradles Station to Highlands Bridge 8-26-29 Osmoclea struthiopteris Hoffm. G 45: Matteruccia — Todaro BVBI II Bank west side of Highlands Pond. A frond much resembling normal sterile fronds but some of the pinnules curling backward & bearing spores. (Indusia not found tho this is early stage). Smoother pinnæ the pinnules are recurved less ( more flat as in normal sterile frond) & bearing no spores but occasionally the “elevated cylindrical receptacles” are present. See Clute 258 on “intermediate fronds” [8-81-29 Fertile frond at upper end of 1st is- land in Highlands Rk above pond.] # 126 8-28-29 Xyris montana Rich G 262, BVBI 451 Fl. Bog side (Herlet) on path from Highlands Camp to Mc Clemons Pond. Entire scape just deciduous as bud opens (found in unopened bud but not in opened fle.) hvs to 8½ cm but scales sometimes hardly more than 4 cm ( hence hvs often more than “¼-⅓ the scape”) hv Scape usually twisted.
