8-19-29 (perhaps) a little purplish, lvs. lance- obleng or slightly oblanceolate, acute or acuminate, narrowed to base. definitely toothed with gland-tipped tooth. turned inward, stiff and inclined to be appressed along branches, dark shining green above, glaucous below, smooth both sides, 2 1/2 x 3/4 in. on petiole of 1/4-3/8 in. Stipules small 4 mm., gland-toothed. Very young twigs or petioles yellowish. Some flowers lvs. obovate valvately. Like. A very young lf. shows remains of short ferruginous hairs on upper surface x several seem to show remains of white arachnoid hairs along edges. Possibly same as F) 8-19-29 8-19-29 Hypericum canadense L. G 576, BV B# 536 Flsps. Road near spring Highlands Camp. Surely this because of linear 3-nerved lvs. x retaceus beats the stamens 15-18 in the 2 cases counted. N.B. The tiny lvs 1-nerved lvs. crowded at base yet are purplish. [9-13-29 Flsps.
