[6-8-32 Kews says "Knautia integrifolia?, probably, but specimen too young to identify with certainty] 4-4-32 From Mrs. Kennedy Vallemaoa. Taproostalensis (few sites) as may be annual. St+ is ligle, Stoutel(1 1/2+medium) same diam as upper part root, tough (perhaps only) straight to lower 2 in. where it splits to. There packed closely together so without now to study well; the two leaves petioles broadened at base seem to encircle it in a shallow cup effect. Sometimes this cup bears 3 off spks (perhaps sometimes more). Don't know whether to call this iff parted hairs, in segments to hair r 2 loo) no stipules evident. These loo to 50x4 mm are all narrowly ob lanceolate, navally entire, acute, long narrowed to base, but in 1 case def dentate at apex (in another case with short lateral lobes near base. Cup of petioles closely overlap. This stuff too occupies 1/4 in wet. Above turn it is again naked for 1/2 in. to what appears a similar whorl of oblong boat apex. This section of hairy with loose, mostly down ward curved hairs. The upper loo 5-20mm x 2 mm scarcely narrowed at base (can't see if any cup effect). All long gray-green or even less chlorophyll with white hairs. Among these upper loo are the flo (perhaps each iff subtends one. Fl 5 or so mm long & hence much shorter than the outside loo, the subsect centers are about as long as loo (facts?) at center. Calyx very very hard to determine but very not superior, perhaps enveloped in a short (less than 1mm calyx
