Arenal pres. with Drake v Micromeria ident. seems as sure as pass without flz. Delicate plants 3-4 cm high with 4-6 branches spreading from near base, clothed into retaceous look but weak often spread- ing somewhat longer than internodes, those at apex being more erect with the infl. buds making effect of a little tuft. Plant glabrous except for very rare gland-tipped hairs on infl. Lvs 5-10 mm long, 1mm at very base but less than half as wide above very acuminate at tip. At base upper lvs can see 3 or the nerve (Boh) and pres. the other 2. Pedicels filiform 3mm; calyx 4mm, sepals narrow, narrowly scarious on margins, 3-nerve & very sharp pointed. No petals found. Developed stamens few. Styles 3. 617 Arenaria Fl v numerous flz. Can Pastella-Arenal pres with Drake v Mi- cromeria. Potentillaea, annual. Lvs 3-5cm with several spreading branches at or near base. St. often purplish covered with very short white downward point- ing hairs, lfy from base to tip. Lower thol (mounting) flz not petalled, the rest sessile and longer than internodes.
