Perianth segs. purple to very base but "farbescence
on throat" not discernible in H. (withering when
studied)

Mrs Nicbet's garden. Fl heads bright cerese-purple v clover-
like in appearance. Exactly as desc except that the lvs
have no more hairs or edges than on the surfaces. Receptacle
woolly reach fl. subtended by a bract which persists after
fl falls. These bracts are ovate, broad based, acute tipped, V
equal.
curved around the fl, 1/4-1/3 as long as fl. Each fl consist of 2
erect, colored bracts about 11 mm high, strongly keeled &
enclosing the other floral parts. Perianth hardly more than 1/2
as long as these bracts, its 5 narrow linear, stiffy erect
segs. are coloured at tips which is scarious glabrous, but
below tip on back are densely woolly with long white
matted hairs (no mention of this in BMJCP.) staminal
tube as desc. BMJCP. Style deeply 2-cleft, shorter than
staminal tube.
