10-8-32 Mentlea From Mrs Kennedy "La Comuna" Valldemosa. F.l. Tiny plant 4 cm. high, with stiff woody, very slender aeri- ing sts. Fls have all the look of M. Pulegium (of well dried specimens) even to the slightly yellow effect of ovella (with stamens seeming at one side) But general effect of plant quite different, being more like a tiny Thymus. Lvs never more than 5mm much darker green than M.P- and less def. nerve. 8/14 10-10-32: Polygonum aviculare L. F.r. Mrs Kennedy "Stps" Valldemosa. Lvs 8 x1.7mm. Sheaths bright white very conspicuous, & (at least sheaths are thickly lepid, longer than internodes. F.l. 2mm long, tapering at top v obtuse than sheaths. 10-11-32 Lagénaria leucantha Rusby B.M.G.C.P.495 of From Mrs Kennedy "Esperlas Rd" from Valldemosa. Only one flt: sent. S.third softly pub. Towards tip, not markedly crenid. L.f ascide BMGCP 4 ½ in diam, softly pub. both sides, apiculate on margins. Calyx lobes consist of narrow erect teeth 4mm high on a tube that otherwise would be truncate. Corolla 3 ½ in diam, cut almost to base in obvate lobes. Pistil dark white flr ½ turning brown & very veiny, pub. both sides, edges not quite entire cusp at tip and the def. mid vein mak- ing the lobe apiculate. Fls solitary on peduncle of 3in, 10-12-32 Mirabilis jalapa L B.M.G.C.P.225 F.l & f. Cult from Mrs Kennedy Valldemosa
