10-6-32 ? Amaranthus paniculatus L. BM QC P252 #372, Costa III 172 (See Ku I:51) Fl. St more a less hairy (not uniformly pubescent, but certainly not "glabrous" BMQCP). Beets (at least some) with ankle long dark points tips that it is difficult to decide bet this v A. hybridus L. var hypochondriacus. Influ more like Coste's ill 91e. paniculatus than id all in Kirk 114 of A. hybridus. Similar plants noticed in various Telden gardens. [But oft with A. caudatus
v] 10-13-32 this seems likely to be a poorly developed plant of that species ][but see 9-8-34 for reconsideration]

Fls unisep p. Porto-Pi in cracks of rock near shore about 2in high and on north exposure of fort very luxuriant with stems a foot v more high. Rosa makes a pickle of sts also by putting in vinegar & letting it stand a month before using.
