its def. spreading branches forming a broad
panicle, flowered well toward the base of the ato
(See Bon & Cote) is provisionally ident as S. durisca.
Calyx after flowering splits into deep, sharp teeth.

Fls fr. Cultinfields bet Palma and Arenal. Spee
col. from field on rd bet Cotten Palasso v Arenal. Seems
not to be in Bar or Cote. Best guess is T. alexandrin.
mm L BM & CP 405. Many atos (often abortive) from
study up root. Sts 6-18in (pale brown) high. Sts
glabrate below, but with appressed, upward pointing
white hairs above. Lfts pubescent, o long (3/4 in) oblong
and palmate entire or "obscurely denticleulate" velvety
lifo; the upper pair apparently opp. Stipules
pilate,
whitish, veined green, ending in long acute
anubulate dilitate point. Heads termin on branches
with peduncles 1/4-1in long. Some heads are in-
