visible Merica somewhat concave inside. Cross section not as in F. and still less as in Anthemum graveolens L. (Costa II 178) the ribs not being at all salient. Note: All (Costa) of the very inadequate. Identity guessed only because of general difficulty of this family & because neither Bernal nor Dement in the profusion of Ridolfia in this region Note Kent 245 says Anthemum graveolens "Couvre les champs" at about this place. Could he be referring to this species? Leaves when crushed rather suggest F. but not so strongly licorice-like (Costa II 157 "plante monaromatique" Bar 396 "Planta aromatico") This really to mind a plant of yard 2-3in high found 6-28-82 in ploughland just north of Rute with ? Bifora teaticulata not put in notes because thought to be a poor specimen of F. but may have been this. 7-30-82 Foeniculum vulgare Mill. Kent 244, Bor H 198 = F. — Will 616, BM & CP 564, = F. — vacant Bar 303 = F. officinale All. Costa II 195 = Anthemum Foeniculum L. Bar 126 FLV nemype ft. Cala Patjada. Carefully collected. 7-30-82 Mentha aquatica L. Kent 359, Bar 355, Bar 248 Bor H 359, S 910, Costa III 80 FL with Anthemis Colula L. Heads
