6-28-32 base. Wing glumes very narrow, and only minutely denticulate (20x), lemmas pubescent 1 one scale fully ½ as long as lemma*. This seems to make ident sure allho Barcal alone to expect forms caeruleus in this place. 1-3 to 6 mm wide. * Pedicels 2mm long; spikelet 6mm long & lemma more than ½ the length of glume. P 759 6-28-32 Cyperus longus L. forma badius Nr I 340 = C. badius Deaf Bar 474, Don 324, Coote III 463 FL. Brock at uppen end & back Plane. Rootstock thick, rarely creeping as all (Coote) but no odor (Coote) to be noticed. Sts 50-60 on light infl, longer than bractls reach to above its middle (Bar says st slenter than u1o). Bracts usually 4, spikele 1 blunt & microscopic, the other 3 conspicuous & usually much longer than infl (1 being longer than the other 2 x 20cm or more). No bract def ring on edges where towards the tip. Infl of several rays spikele 1-3 are elongated 2-4 cm, the rest so short that their spikelts lie almost aside. Spikelets 1 cm long. Scales ttl & obfuse, the bright green keel with nerve (perhaps) & the rest of scale then volining olieket nut (almost red.) 6-28-32 Epilobium hirsutum L.
