Diff from deae in that lfts sometimes to 17 and peduncle (in only spec in full fl) is longer than lf, ie lfs 3½ cm, peduncle 5½ cm others unseeable. 3-29-30. Fl looks like H. Seems only proc in Rev. [But see? H. balcarica Willd?] 31-32 3-5-32? Medicago hispida Læcnt f. ms. denticulata Ru II 74 for B = (varie) M. pentacycla DC. Bar 1/6 = M lappacea Dear Costa I 326, BVH 1/1 which parapo = M. lappacea Lam Bon 95. Fl v advanced & fr. Establi- ments on wall at para north of the "Beer 3-corners". Plant decumbent with its purplish, to skin, grooved on one side (making 2 edges) somewhat twisted. Stipules deeply cut. Lfts large; the terminal ones to 16x13 mm), glabrous, dentate abv middle, largest fr 8mm diam (not counting spines). Spines lobed 1.5-2.5 mm long ie rather longer than spine set. Fr spurred close wise in 4-5 coils which do not acum lax except in very young fr. Fle 3-7; fr peduncles always shorter than petiole lvs. Pedicels shorter than calyx tube. Calyx lobes somewhat larger than tube. Cordla wings longer than keel. Peduncles sometimes aristate, sometimes not. Daunglay Costa I 320: Cant be sure if "épine élonnées ou canaliculées à la base" tho the groove near edge & fr does seem to show on one side & base of spines and young pods seems "faisant saillie etc" rather than "restant dans le fond" etc. See 3-26-30 and 3-23/1
