689 5-29-32 Tenerium Polium L. var. album Kn II 315 See T. Polium L. BS 315; Don 257, Cots III 139 F-L Beach at Colonia. Same as 11-22-32 cf'd with T. Polium var majoreum from Bellows from which it def differs. Ident chiefly by calyx lobes as deep (this v by fact that it is not like ill will's ill Tab CXXXIII T var majorieum. Plants low (prob about 1 ft a less) than alluded to for var maj- st. low. Calyx all wooly-felty with white branched hairs which are much longer than the axi- lar hairs on var maj majoricum. Both thele broader v slightly longer than var majoricum but the revolute, crenulate edges much the same. Infl has a broader more solid effect as lateral heads are only very short peduncled. Fls larger (Calyx 5mm high while var maj- has calyx 3 mm high; corolla diff is about same pro- portion). Calyx teeth slnkt off base but each bears just below to apex on its back a woolly brown awn 1/2-4/2 mm high. (var maj has nothing similar.) Corolla usually white but (in one spec) tinged purplish. Anthers red-orange or redder than orange.
