5-18-32 same sort of relation at base (On these
nothing approaching the smooth white vis-
ner surface) (3-23-32). The 2 oldest, inner
sepals are sheathing on inside below with
thin white margin (at least unlike 3-27-32), the
1st sepal projecting upward from back-top
of this sheathing part. (Many of the sepals
were a little turned back towards the base)
Petals many, linear obtuse, white, merging
into greenish-yellow ring at base; the wide
5mm high so that petals are shorter than
longest sepal but longer than shortest
sepal. Ovary not lobed, with 5-veined linear
stigmas 1/2 mm long erect, not remaining
or for to "spaced at as in (3-23-32) Stamens
many not in groups. (Query what re-
lation bet. the ring which has the stamens
in 3-23-32 and the united bases of petals in
this?) Anthers yellow, attached at about mid-
dle. Withering the anthers & first petala forma
little cap over ovary. Calyx not at all crescent +
cleft but (a X.S.) black over the very young cap-
sules which show no signs of the flanges
(3-23-32. Ovary 5-parted, 5-celled. Each cell with many
Piles attached by long to ovile placenta (not now
noticeably thick) Under low (20x) papilla &
ridges on back.
