"and which [illegible] but much larger (to 19mm overall) the corolla is twice length of calyx, and dilated at mouth much like ill (Box) but not as oblique as in E. plantagineum and stamens hardly exerted. St. filaments carry tubercle based hairs but [illegible] to touch. But note that some flowers are extrafloral (Coste & Ber say not). Design of "une vue intérieure à éailles ouvertes" (Coste) whatever that may mean. Only the forms in Paris E. sericeum Vahl. But demonstrably superior as to an base than in other E. so far studied. St 4 in long pars. December PDB was growing by Bellore Castle wall west- ward from entrance E. plantagineum (a small plant) v E. arvenseum (a large patch) near by. 4-27-32 Lavatera maritima Gouan.
