vfr all stages. Castell de Alaro'. Off with A. pro-
cumbens Desr. D 4-18-32. Note: A. minutely hairy
haired while A. procumbers has to be quite glabrous.
4-18-32? Carex sagittata DC. Bar 36, Costa I/00 [An
II 33 says all C. reported from Balears, except H. omea P.Bz,
are forms of A. luranta Desr.] But Castell de Alaro'
on paths to a farm. Whole plant def. rough with
stalked branching hairs. Broad loose def. sheath
along to 2 x 1 cm, short petioled, obliquely crenate, very
round at tip, purplish leaf as beneath where mid-
nervs along green contrastingly green. St 6.5 cm
high, purple to brown naked to 2 cm above base,
then intricably clothed with 12 lvs to base of inflo.
These at lvs oblong with sides almost //v tip broadly rounded,
erect, crenate, the base with def. auricles //lto St. Lome at st-
lvs 13 mm or well x6 mm, the auricle 2 mm long, lto top of
lvs progressively smaller but always longer than inter-
nodes. Inflo will be handled as in Carex lly A. luranta.
Pedicels obviously glabrous. Petal anarrow.
