shallow sinus bet the lobes. (side away from
petiole.) Fls solitary on peduncles 10-?5 mm
(ppt lengthen infr), articulated somewhat
above middle (point articulation marked by
2 hardly visible (20x) calybe points but no
tracts and now no arms. Flower broken
with no trace, purple the exact shade as L.sphaericus.
Venusially veined, also similar in that stgnd-
all has lighter spot toward base. Flw also similar in
that standard is notched but the open fl produces a
different effect in that the standard (perhaps
slightly curled) is more concave the fusion of
the style through the keel more less askew. Fl 1?5mm
high! meas along back x standard 12-13 mm broad.
Calyx glabrous abt 5 mm long, which the equal
acute 3-nerved teeth are abt 3 mm long. Style lays
on inside, def twisted, mary glabrous, slight appitate,
2-ridged on both edges, so much so on upper edge
that it may be winged in pt. Oicles 2-3.
No mention in any books of L. with subteranean fls
otherwise.
This seem to blind char. of L. saticae L. with
those of L. sphaericus Petz.

Compd with L. Cicerah which is similar in having short
d style. But h.C.—is larger in all parts: fls to 8 cm x 5 mm;
calyx 10mm (which teeth are 6mm); purple tendrils
long & branched. Corolla purplish (sorta brick)
