Panicle looks like "rats" vis not def. I-sided except in uppermost part where it becomes a raceme (i.e. above the branches). Glumes 9-nerved, 2 cm long, the ears twisted awns & lemmas extend 2cm further. Hairs on lemma def. white. Lemma bidentate with fine points 4- 5mm long. Design yet particular. Racilis very with long silky white hairs like lemma. Flo 2mth racilis prolonged v bearing rudimentary fl. 642 4-18-32 Lathyrus Cicer L. (See 2-26-32) FL & racemifl. fls. Notes on this under unknown l. & 4-18-32, Terreno- Don Rapina 643 4-13-32 Silene F.L. Terreno. Seeds see 4-31-32 I knew reports this S. ? gallica L. T.P.B. not wholly convinced? 4-14-32 ?? Linaria maroccana North J. B MD CP 675, v See No +60. FL. Spontaneous in fl-jest in Rose garden. Localt., linear, raceme 25X2+mm, many on lower hand. cs. Racemes terminal vflors Pedicels 7-10mm, subtend- ed by narrow bracts +2 cm mm long somewhat narrowed v white margined at base v slightly gland-ciliate or mac- gina (others plant quite glabrous). Calyx 5mm high, its lobes broadly margined at base with white (or purplish) Corolla 2cm long (perhaps triple lens) with slender, sharp pointed styles which open fully 1cm. Corolla a rich purple, first lip & pale yellow with an orange-brown spot at base & black of the 3 folds which run from front & palate to venuss in lip. Upper lip deeply cleft.
