evidently not forming seed. Roadside in Puerto
Pollensa. To 8 in high. Culum lfy to top with stiff,
sheath distal above lvs. (20 to 3½ in) the upper slender,
acute, rough on edges, def. pubescent above,
glabrous beneath; ligule a ring of short hairs.
Panicle short (to 1 in), inconspicuous & partly in-
closed. Idont yet S correct tho much helps little.
Spikelcts 1-fld w lemmae ford 1-nerved (See
p. 129) Sts branched axillary-vertically. Plant like
eil Bor 347 except culum, bearing inflores lfy to top.

Pollensa. Root not collected. But plant unquestionably
a Panicum and not P. capilare or P. miliaceum.

upper lvs stiff spreading; sheaths & blades beneath
glabrous or almost so, blades above sparsely pubescent
with longish hairs esp at base and edges at base
sometimes with a few long tuberculate basal hairs.
Ligule short, fringed. Spikelcts 3mm, glabrous.
1st glume very short, rounded at apex, clasping. 2nd
glume > 1st lemma a little longer than 2nd lemma.
1st lemma with 7 fl (3 stamens) & thin palea
