11-5-30 Enphlochia segetalis L. Kutt #158, Bar 418 Box 2921, BVH 467 (stems not as broken as in #) FLV fr, common in field by 3rd river zo. I Pollensa Puerto. Varies in size. 1 plant 18in high the inf. comprising the upper 2/3. St. plumy red dead mostly naked. 2nd of 8 rays (not strictly umbellate, repeatedly branching in 2's making very broad bushy head. Bracts broader than long, short pointed, grey squarely truncate at base. Pupa capsule 4mmx4mm. (hence smaller than F.) [11-3-30], 3lobed with a granular band down each side of dorsal nerve. Seed about 2.5mm (without caruncle) greyish reticulate, pitted. Caruncle white, conspicuous cylindrical, about .7mm long, set obliquely on seed. Glumes yellow, sharply dent-lance shorter plants 8-10in vary greatly in infl. some of 5 rayed others with at least usual fl-branched below umbel. Lvs to 1/2inx3mm linear, entire, 1-nerved. Lvs of umbel broadly to sometimes vrate-lanceolate never as broad proportionately all ill Box. Gen effect of plant yellowish green Note that dese well in Box suggests E. jonea rather than E. segetalis (But Kutt #159 suggests E. jonea not in Mayorea but in north Africa, Sicily & Sardinia) (See 11-14-30, V lep 12-5-30
