receptacle. Carpel thin, loosely enclosing seed.
Seed black, rough, oblong about 1.5 X .8 mm
creased down the middle (by longitudinally)
the embryo evidently folded on itself. What
remains of calyx (or involucere) under it is
nerved (possibly 3-parted). Parts of plant seen
glabrous. Pollen scarce except (for?) under branches.

11-3-30 ? Scrophulariaceae
Figs. No halo. Plant dead, &t simple to 8 in high
with all scars to top (alt. below velum?) at
quite opp above. Dintl. 1/4 or less in. long, ter-
iminal. Pods almost sessile with remains of
very faint see? Calyx below, globular, open?
(with defloration). Pod about 7 mm high, 2 beaked,
2 celled, splitting into 2 valves loculicidally
(so that the 2 beaks become 4). Seeds many
about .7 mm long, whiteish, or axillary pita-
central seeds ribbed longitudinally and
beautifully & finely meshed transversely.
It had been def. pubescent. Pod glabrous
but somewhat twisted, stiff & firm. #/5-
