(b) Form uncertain but not as diffuse like
as (a), fleshy branches thicker, longer (to 3cm) &
often branched, very worm like in appearance.

Fst Achene (which are now ripe) is white. Scales not
rough on heel (BVH). No leaves or bristles at base.

L.f. Blades stiff & triangular. Lower scales not
markedly smaller than upper ones but emphy.

to southward. Inner bracts & invol have thickened
middle rib which projects upward in spiny point
shortly below the soft thin tips of bract (which is
like edges) hairs on plant often minutely stellate
at very tips.
