At 6 points on root-stock emerge at 3/4 to 1/2 it thick, smooth white "runners" (almost 1/4 inidian) the longest piece is 4 1/2 in. The upper- most of these bears a few thicks but more fibrous rootlets. Lvs (a.f.s.) all from crown, thick or petioles as long as blades and not enlarged or clasping at base. Lvs oblong in outline, cut about 3/4 way to mid rib in m[iddle]
