(Hairs show bifurcated apex like 3-27-30) 1-9-31??? Kadyopsis polymorpha (see 2-2 7-30) Composite 1-2 in dlam. Bellver. Annuled with very slender ato branching (dichotomously from near base, to 8 in length. Branches (seemingly maked) swell slightly under the terminal fl. head. Involucrate 5-6, spreading so that head is about 1/2 in diam., and partially enveloping the radial achenee. Achenee almost cylindri- cal (a little curved & a little narrowed at tip) 4 mm overall, brown, striate with the ridges finely cut transversely, to appx a small cup-like crown (denticulate or almost bi- tire) Rechenes all alike except that radial one more curved, none at all beaked. Receptacle partb. naked. Dams to pubescent. Root very blunt valvulae. Best guess seems to be Kadyopsis in which usual papery base of interior achenee did not develop.
