10-19-80 which Bar intended to refer to in his S. bellidifolia roman (should have been Salvo). Each spiklet is subtended by 3 bracts: the 1st & 2nd, 1.5- 2 mm long brown at base v scarious above, the 3rd 4-5 mm long green with scarious margin & tipped brown at edge of the green part v on tip which projects into scarious margin at tips. Besides these bracts each fl (i.e. the 3-4 fld spiklets) is subtended by an ovate hyaline scale with narrow green vith (i.e. center) about 1/2 length of calyx tube.] Calyx tube whiteish (green brown) more or less pubescent & like the individual bracts quickly turns brown. Corolla lkec 4-6 mm wide. Root abruptly divinely branching at top, each branch bearing tufts of long aerial roots. In all basal, spatulate to 1/2 x 1/8 in, flat, rounded at apex, narrowed to base, entire, 1-nerved, edges only slightly revolute.
