across diag. single many short peduncles which terminate about axillary branches. Sometimes 2 peduncles spring from same point. Fr. with peduncles elongated to 3/4 in. Fr. tuberculata with tubercle ending in hooked prickles. Fr (not yet ripe) 6mm across both parts. Seems not in Barcelo 'Why not b. sprigged? see 4-14-30 3-17-30 Polycarpus tetraphyllum L. KuI 458 = P.-L. Bar. 178, Bon. 108 BVH 79. Fl. Road west of Génova cemetery. (see 12-10-30 3-17-30?? Herniaria cirea L. KuI 462, Bar. 180, Bon. 109 (See BVH 882 Indes. ? genus) Fl. West of Génova cemetery. Flat on ground. Pubescent, hairs not apparent. Has blade 5mm long x less than 2mm wide, pubescent, tapered to both ends, sessile, stipulate. No seem to be alt. with a branch bearing flower each lf. Calyx usually 4-5 parted, (Seems usually 4), pubescent, lobe ends no hairs no longer than the others. No signs of follicle. nr. 2 ? petals Stamens seem always 2. ? seem to discern disc bearing staminate (See BVH) Stigmae 2. [Note 3-5-32 when studying specimen] H. 3-5-32 why not H. cinerea DC.
