3-14-30 Eriogenum picroides F.W. Schmidt^\n= K. — DC. Bal. 281 = K. — Deaf Bon 185; Early fl. Bellver. This spc instead of D. Dalechampii because the l in first collected is not black and because invol has stiff white hairs and is not at all tomentose. But note that invol bracts are black, margined & terminal lobe if large. Some fls have lower lobes so indefinite as to be almost spatulate. Lvs soft, light green, pubescent beneath, edges with recur, divergent, low but very sharp pointed teeth. Fls light yellow. Receptacle with depressions & short hairs between. Schene 3-winged at base, the beaks of the extemus ones curved inward. The upper has ciliate clasping tapering into long narrow dentate lobe. (See D.
