Spikelets (at this stage) 3/4 - 1 in long, curv- mg outward with tips of florets pressed on upper side. Florets about 8-12. 1st glume 3-nerved, 2nd glume 5-nerved. Lemma 7-nerved shorter than palea & with short awn (less than 1/2 its length) from ot base apex. Paleas ciliate on keels, top rounded. Ofwi Bas "patula" means extended desc of Bromaeum is perhaps that except as to spikelets curved & lemma shorter than palea. 4-25-30 Trigella damascena L. KuI 478, Bas16, Bon 10, BMJCP. 279.
